Is yoga really worth it? / by Alena Graff

Yoga is not my first choice of exercise ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธas I really enjoy lifting weights. Working with weights keeps my muscles tight and in the right places where they were 30 years ago;) However I recognize the benefits of it, especially when you have a sedentary lifestyle like most of us, or reached that golden age of being a full-blown adult as me (50+ that is). And although these are well-known facts, they are worth reviewing.

So what are top 5 benefits of #yoga?

* Improves your flexibility. ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
* Perfects your posture and balance. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
* Prevents cartilage and joint breakdown.

* Protects your spine.๐Ÿš
* Increases your blood flow. ๐ŸŒน

For me it is a great reminder to stand and walk straight, keeping my posture upright, and that makes you look (and feel) younger! Our โ€œalways hunched-overโ€ lifestyle (driving, sitting, typing) does not help. Awareness is a first step to #improvement ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธโœจWith just one session a week your balance will improve, so is your posture - and that might prevent you from stumbling and falling down. Being able to avoid that hip fracture with just one hour a week is totally worth it!
